St Raphaels Parents Letter – January Lockdown 05.01.2021

Update – Monday 4th January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Following the government announcement tonight that schools will close from midnight, and due to the late notice of the school closures, St Raphael’s Catholic Primary School will be closed to all pupils tomorrow (Tuesday 5th January 2021) to allow school to review the guidance and collate a Key Worker and Vulnerable Child list.

We will be contacting parents and carers with regards to children who meet the Key Worker and Vulnerable Child criteria, as defined by the DFE, tomorrow morning with the school reopening to this limited number of children from Wednesday (6th January 2021)

For all other children remote learning will begin on Wednesday 6th January 2021 with work set by the class teacher via the Seesaw or Tapestry platform.

We appreciate your patience at this time, school had no prior knowledge of the announcement and we now await updated guidance from the DFE and Tameside Council.

St Raphael’s Catholic Primary School

Dear Visitor,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the St. Raphael’s Catholic Primary School website. we hope that you will find much to interest you. Here you can start to discover what makes St. Raphael’s such a special place, why children love to be here and why they remember it with such affection after they have left. We are located in the rural setting of Millbrook close to the local towns of Stalybridge and Mossley.

Our school provides primary education from nursery age to Year 6 accommodated across the main school building and the purpose built Early Years Foundation Stage. St. Raphael’s is a school which is filled with a buzz of happy activity and the warmth of positive relationships between pupils and adults. The children are taught a broad and balanced curriculum by wonderful teachers, and the academic standards are high; but St. Raphael’s is about so much more than this. It is about our Catholic faith that teaches children to follow the example of Jesus. It is about giving everyone the opportunity to shine and be proud; it is about having the confidence to have a go at anything and the belief that you can succeed. We teach the children to have pride in themselves and to work harmoniously with others. St Raphael’s is a place of acceptance and respect for the beliefs of others and pride in what others do well. It is about the fun, magic and laughter of school life and the making of all those memories that last into old age.

I believe that it is these things that make our children lively, confident, thoughtful and articulate and is why they move on to fulfilling lives built upon the Gospel values and strong foundations laid in the school.

The website is constantly being updated so that we can fully serve our community, please keep coming back. You can read the latest newsletter here. If you are new to the school, or a regular visitor, I would encourage you to pay us a visit and to sample something of the spirit of St. Raphael’s. You can be assured of a very warm welcome.
